Go to an auto-parts store and get a sheet of thin, high temp gasket material for like a dollar.

Don't use a gasket there. You will get a tighter and more permanant fit just using a smear of high temp (red type) silicone on the surfaces after cleaning them good. The gaskets sound like a good idea but as they smash thinner from the heat cycling and vibration bad things happen. I realize that gaskets are often included with the engines but most folks don't use them for long.

I use the silicone it not only makes a good seal but it works like glue so your muffler is less likely to come lose

Ultra Copper silicone sealer. No gasket needed as others have stated the gasket compresses bolts come loose. muffler ends up lost.
