Wind

I'm one of meny that fly all year here in new york. constant wind is not a problem, its the delta between high and low speed and the quickness that it switches that concerns me. as the delta goes up landing aproaches can be flown in much steeper to keep air speed up because the wind will slow the plan down once I level off. I fly final as steeply as possible, carrying throttle sometimes, levelling just above the runway. ALWAYS WHEEL LAND NEVER FLAIR IN WIND! Always keep the plane nose down, just slightly. I and two of my buddies have flown in wind that would not let the tails of our cubs down. they had to be walked out with one person on each tip and the holders had to hold the tips untill they feel the engine start to pull, look at each other then release. landing was made several times all wheel landings. have to be cognasent of the fact that if the plane youches hard it will increase AOA and the plane will rocket into the air. if this happends don't try to save it becaus floating is a no no. Yes it was on a dare and three guys all did it without damage with great planes arf cubs. this can not be done with stock crafts though the second wire needs to be soldered near the axle and screwed to the fuse. to prevent the axles from deflecting back on hard landings and digging into the grass.
