Default flat tires

I leave Az. in the Summer months. My planes remain behind in 100* weather.

My tires on my 60 size planes have flat warped tires.

I tried alcohol and detergent, it helped somewhat.

I need better advice.

Please help.

The two best ways to prevent tire distortion are either remove them from the plane or support the plane to remove the weight from the tires.

I didn't do that. I left them all summer in the heat and now I need to know how to restore them to their original shape.

Next season I will follow your advice and thank you for it.

I wonder if warming them would help. Maybe use a heat gun, and shape them a bit using a heavy glove to protect your hand? You might be stuck buying new wheels, or just living with them.

For the future, I saw some wheel chocks on a web site that lift the whhels off of the ground. They were nylon, and snapped on the axle. I cannot find the web site but made a drawing of the concept it used. It should be fairly simple to make them out of thin plywood or plastic.

I would just chalk it up to a lesson learned and buy new tires. I use cheap hardware store shelving to store my planes. Just be sure to cover the arms with some foam or something to protect the finish of the plane.
