Default Attaching pilot figures

I have a Barbie style pilot figure I'm about to put in a Waco 60 bipe. My problem is that the doll is hollow, and I would like to put something inside that I can put a screw into from beneath. She's an 88 cent "fashion doll" from Wally World, and she had a joint in her torso so she could twist. I popped the lower portion off, and there is a lip around her upper torso. I could probably glue an ice cream stick or a plywood disc in there. What kind of glue will stick wood to vinyl? I don't want my "pilot" to eject!

For pilot figures such as that I usually make a wooden "plug" to fit inside of the pilot figure. Use epoxy to attach it. I then hold the pilot in place with a wood screw from inside the fuselage

Thanks for your suggestion. That's just what I did! I took a piece of lite ply scrap, put a screw in the middle and a bead of Shoe Goo around the edge, pushed it through and used the screw and pliers to pull it back tight against the lip. I used Shoe Goo because it has a bit of flex in it and I'm guessing it might stick to vinyl better than epoxy. Also, the tube was handy and you don't have to mix Shoe Goo! She's drying as we speak!

RTV silicone adhesive has worked well for me.

However, I augured a 4 Star 60 and the pilot went trough the front of the canopy on that plane. Wasn't much left but the hardware anyway. The pilot is now flying a new Four Star.

Definitely like Goop. I'm pretty sure Shoe Goo is pretty much the same stuff. Had the Shoe Goo on hand and I figure if it'll glue rubber and plastic soles back on sneakers, it's gotta be good stuff!
