Al - I would also say that I do the same thing you do as far as taking parts off the board before the glue is completely dry. But there is the chance the part could end up warped if I'm not careful.
For wings, I never take the chance - I leave them pinned down for at least overnight before removing it at all. Other parts are taken on a case by case basis.
