Default Costumary Fee for Kit Building Service

Hi all,

I am contemplating of using a kit building service to frame up a 1/6 scale Pfalz DIII from Alan Spievak plan (61" span). All parts have already been cut. All I need is to the ARC stage. I would like to know what is the typical fee for such type of service. Thank you. DP

In the days before ARFs. The standard charge to frame up a kit was twice the cost of the kit. So if it was a $130 kit you paid $260. This was 10-15 years ago. Everything else has gone up. Labor included.

The cost of the kit is a normal fee to frame it up and get it ready to cover.

If you want a turnkey plane then you pay all the parts and twice the cost of the kit.
