I have aquired a used OS 1.08 bx1, i am having problems with getting the engine to idle. I have installed all new O rings, and needle valve, I am using a A3 glow plug and cool power 15% fuel, The engine runs great at high RPM, but will not idle consistantly. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you

Use an OS8 glow plug.
Does it idle with the glow driver attached?
Air leaks will make it idle bad.
In the carb throat is there a insert or has it been removed?
There are two different needle valves that come with the OS1.08. Have you tried both?

The engine will idle much better with glow driver on. The new needle valve I installed was as per the parts list, but it was longer and had more of a taper than the orginal. I don't know what I am looking for when you refer to the carb insert.

Sounds like it's to rich try leaning out the low speed setting 1/8th turn at a time until it will idle without the glow driver.

Listen, you are getting some incorrect advice on the OS 1.08. There is no low speed adjustment you can turn 1/8 of a turn. At least not on my 1.08. The 7D carb on mine has the +/- adjustment on the same side as the main needle. It is a very sensitive adjustment so make small changes. You need to turn it slightly to the right to lean it some. Start with it lined up with the center mark and work from there.

It is correct about using a hotter plug. This is indicated by the drop in rpm when you remove the battery. Try the OS #8.

Dang. I have not had a 1.08 for awhile and totally forgot about that adjustment being a + -
