Default filter screen for 70 surpass

Hey guys,
Does anyone know if they make any kind of screen type filters to go over an os 70 surpass carb? Our field is kind of grassy,,, the engine is mounted upright so the carb is facing downward .I periodically pick up junk from the ground,messing up the operation.
If there is nothing on the market-----------------any suggestions?

[sm=idea.gif] Thanks----------------JIM

Check out [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX9158&P=7]THIS FILTER[/link]. It says it fits .45 and larger size engines. HTH

I use those filters myself. Not so much to keep stuff from getting in the carb but to keep fuel from spitting out of the carb onto the plane. Those filters are only going to keep large particle items out. Grit will still pass through them. I think I heard someone call them a June Bug stopper

Another old trick that I've come across is getting some pantyhose and stretching a piece of the material over the carb opening (you may want to inform the significant other that you intend to chop the garment up). This is sometimes done on full size cars while tuning carburetors as a temporary filtration system.
