Default silicone deflectors

What is the best way to keep one of those Hobbyco silicone deflectors on? I have an OS FS 52 surpass II and there just isn’t enough room for two zip ties and one doesn’t cut it.
This is on a GP Cessna 182 and I would like to get the exhaust out of the recessed cutout?
Any suggestions?

Would RTV stick to the deflector, or would I be better off to grind a recesse around the muffler?

Are there any other suggestions?

grind a recess,it's the best way to keep them on if you have to use one.

Aluminum refrigeration tubing. Every silicon deflector I tried to use got burned through by the heat of the exhaust gas of the 4 stroke.

I made a small bead of J-B Weld around the tip of the exhaust stinger with a toothpick to keep the deflector from sliding off.

On a two stroke I drilled a 3/64 hole through the deflector and muffler outlet. I ran .040 stainless safety wire through it and twisted the ends. It will not fall off.

I had the same issue with my saito 100 and i used a dab of JB weld around the tip of the muffler. AFter that dries put the deflector on and zip tie it. The JB weld acts as a lip so the ziptie or deflector wont slip off. Works Well...
