Chrome Ultracote or MonoCote
Im not sure Im asking this question in the appropriate place but here goes anyway.
I would like to know if anyone has had any radio signal interference from covering a plane with the Chrome Ultracote or monocote. Does the chrome colored covering have any actual metal fibers or anything that could cause interference with the Tx signal? I ran the antenna wire in a nyrod tube through the fuse on the inside. Havent flown the plane yet. Someone asked if I was worried about using the chrome covering. I wasnt worried till they asked me that. I hadnt given it a thought but now Im worried.
Has anyone got some experience in this matter?
Thanks,
Chuck

Have used both coverings in Chrome, but ran the antenna on the out side. Just don`t sound like a good idea to me, if it will give you trouble it should show up in a range test. I know the new Super opaque Ultra-coat warn about this as it starts off with an aluminum coating first then the color. May be some one else has tried it? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>big max 1935>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have seen this asked before and there was a link to a picture of a plane I think was owned by the owner of Saito, it was a while ago so I don't remember the plane but it was covered with aluminum sheeting and it didn't cause any radio problems. There were claims of problems when the antenna was run inside the fuse from some guys that used the chrome coverings and it was decided to be safe, run your antenna outside and do a good radio check. Not what you want to hear when you just spent 45 bucks on covering for a scale war bird that you no way want to see an antenna hanging from.

I have 2 planes, an Ultra Sport 60 and a Ultra Sport 1000, both covered in Chrome Monokote. Both have the antennas run inside the fuse, both have lived 5+ years with no problems what-so-ever. Don't know whether the Ultracoat would be different or not. Good luck.
