Default Looking for receiver

I want to put together a little cheap foam plane and I need a receiver. I don't want to buy another expensive receiver for a little park flyer but I want it to work on my JR XP7202 radio. I heard that I could buy a cheaper receiver and a crystal and it would work with my plane. Is that true? If so what kind do I need to get?

Thanks for the help again guys

I have had good luck with the 4 channel GWS recievers. Sometimes you can find these under 20.00

Try these guys out:

http://www.lightflightrc.com/

I bought one from them and I highly recommend them. Dave and Sara really know how to take care of their customers. The one that they sent had a manufacturer defect and all it took was a simple e-mail to explain the problem. They sent a new rx with the means to send the old one back all within 4 days time. (they're in CA- I'm in GA) No questions asked. They are what customer service should be.
Their prices and shipping are great also.

I have also used a GWS four channel receiver. I think it was around $17 from Tower. I use it in a Slow Stick with my JR Sport SX600 transmitter.

Edit: Here it is.... The frequency crystal is another $6.99

Another vote for Berg, I've seen to many GWS perform not so well.

i've been told that for some reason the 6 channel GWS is safer to use, performs better than the 4 channel. so, i have used a couple and have had no cpmplaints. the only complaint i ever had w/a gws 4 channel was indoor flying, i was told that the fluorescent lamps cause jittering. beyond that, never a glitch when outside.

I don't recall hearing anything bad about the Berg Rx and at ~$36 for the Rx and crystal, for full range and .14oz - that's good stuff.
