I've read different ways to get the CA or the CA fog off of covering when installing CA hinges... Is there a way to be "proactive" and coat the covering with something ? Vaseline over the covering in that area? Something like that ? I know acetone removes it.... but just looking into a way to prevent from having to use that.

Have you ever watched CSI on TV? Sometimes when they are looking for finger prints they put an object under a hood and heat up a small quantity CA. The vapors are drawn to oil in fingerprints turning them white. To keep the area from fogging clean the area good with alcohol and use clean white cotton gloves when handling the wing when gluing in the CA hinges.

If the CA is getting on the covering, you're using too much CA. Six drops (three from each side) should be all you need for most CA hinges. The CA should quickly wick into the hinge.
Or just skip the CA hinges and use pinned hinges.

Amen. I've never used even as much as 3 per side. Two on each side should do it.
