Default Fabric covering question

I purchased some fabric covering at a (garage type sale), I really don't know the brand or age of it, it appears to be good quality though. I have tried some application testing and it appears that it's doesn't seem to attach as good as probably mono-kote does. Is there a point in time when the glue may deteriorate so it may not be good to use or is there a way to rejuvinate the glue in some way to bring it back? Thank's for any suggestion's.

Try coating the airframe with Balsa Rite or Stix_it.. That should do the trick.

thank's for the reply. I have used Balsa Rite in the past, but I have to do it inside and the odor is so strong that I won't do it inside the house. Thank's again

some times you must hold it in place while it cools. the glue dosent stick wile hot . many fabrics are low temp and will even stick to foam.

Sounds like you have Coverite fabric. If you can not see any of the weave and/or the paint is thick, it most likely is Coverite. Coverite is well known to have a very weak adhesive and require the use of Balsarite or SIG StixIt to get it to adhere.

If you want to use a fabric I can highly recomment SolarTex fabrics. The weave is a little more open than Coverite, but the adhesive is excellent AND you will save several ounces in weight on a 40 - 60 size plane compared to Coverite.
