Turns out that last night the Eagle63 was hooking violently right on takeoff most of the time. EXCAP232 helped diagnose the problem and it turns out that what was probably happening was I had too few rubber bands on the wing and they were older ones that had been stretched many times. He informed me that when the plane starts to fly the wing was probably lifting off the fuse momentarily which explains why it flies great in the air but is so hard to take off. From now on I am going to always test to see how easy it is to lift the wing from the fuse before I fly.
I will let you all know what the test results are after my next flying session.

I had an Eagle doing loops because I used Office Depot elastics and the wing lifted at the front, evenly, every time you picked up speed. We would increase speed and immediately do a loop. At level slow flight it was great, but then another loop. It took a little investigating. I found that I push up with my thumbs and hold to the dowel. When there is good resistance it's OK. When there is light resistance, you are asking for the wing to lift/angle of incidence increase. Sig bands are a little tougher than the generics but they vary in quality also.

To all the participants of this thread ... thanks.
And a special thanks to EXCAP232 for all his help at the field. He was right on the money about the rubber bands being too loose on the wing, With good rubber bands and a straight rudder fin it takes off nicely every time now. All I need to do now is modify the nose wheel to be a little less sensitive and it will be perfect. My son and I did landings and takeoffs for a solid evening last week with great success ... we have been hoping for an evening like this for a while.
Learned a lot in the process, glad its flying good now.
