Saito FA-125A fuel?
I bought some 20% nitro, 18% oil. Will this work for this engine? The break-in and first 10 flights was with 15% nitro and 18% oil and everything worked fine. The manual suggests 10-15% nitro and 20% oil. I bought the 20% nitro at a LHS (at the advise of the shop owner) which is fairly far away, would rather not return it if at all possible. Do you think it would hurt the engine to run the 20%? Would I get any advantage running a higher nitro % (read more RPM). Thanks for any input.

RE: Saito FA-125A fuel?
Hey zaboaa,
The specs on the Horizon Hobby site (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=SAIE125A) say that you can run between 10% and 30% nitro in that motor, so 20% shouldn't be a problem. If you're having second thoughts you could dilute the 20% down to 10% by mixing it 50/50 with cheaper 0% nitro fuel. That could be messy and it means you've got two containers of fuel sitting open.
For my Saito, I bring my oil up to 20% by mixing in a bit of castor oil, making it yroughl 18% synthetic and 2% castor. I don't know if this really helps things but it makes me feel like I'm taking care of my gear.
Purists would have you run the engine in on the same fuel you intend to use throughout it's life. I don't know what, if any, the impact will be.
