Default Hinge Spacing

I recently had an elevator hinge break, so I removed the elevator halves and slotted the surfaces to accept DuBro pin hinges. The new slots had to be made further in from the edges to avoid the old hinges and surface edges. How far in can the hinges be placed while maintaining structural integrity?

Default RE: Hinge Spacing

Typically i target no more than 1" from the outside and inside of the control surface to the edge of the hinge.
