Default Antenna Question

I was prepping one of my planes for the morning and accidentally stepped on the receiver's antenna, ripping off about 4" from the end as I walked. I removed about 1/16th of the insulating plastic and joined them by soldering the tear with electronic solder, and then used shrink tubing to cover up the exposed spot. Will this cause any kind of interference or diminish the range? The antenna has not lost any of its original length.

In my opinion you are "good to go".

Indeed 'Good to go'. Spliceing is acceptable Or even replacing sections of wire is fine and a common repair and as always the goal is to maintain the original length. That sixtenth or so you lost in doing a splice is of no concern.

If that was the only damage, no problem, good to go as said above. I would double check though that you have not suffered any other damage like a break elsewhere hidden by the insulation. If you have a multimeter, check for continuity from the tip of the antenna to where it is attached to the reciever printed circuit board.
