OK please help and I'll try to explain this the best I can. Unionville Turbo beaver 96 in. 15 flights in and no problem. Sunday flying and all of a sudden it goes full left aeileron, I correct and bring it back in, somethings wrong!!!! I walk up to the plane and the servos are twiching to the max. Turn off the trans and the closer I get to the plane the harder the servoes twich. Until I figure this out it's not going up. So here's the construction. Dubro pull pull on the rudder and tailwheel, phenolic circuit board manufactured bellcrank in the rear, antenna thru a sullivan red rod about 2 inches from the pull pull in the fuse. I pulled out the antenna and laid it away from the pull pull and it dimishes but it still there. I did change the 600 nicad to a 2000 nimh recently. I guess my question is it flew great for 15 flights and is now acting up???? 91 4 stroke with sullivan flex cable hookup and quick connect on the carb, the rest is Zbends and clevises. I think everthing is tight but I might find something or at least nothing has fallen off and I did remove the reciever and tapped it with no result, again ALL servoes are twitchiig.Exspect for the dubro metal cable and the throttle quick connect it's all none metal connection. Thinking out loud when I was installing the dubro I might have burnt off the plastic covering in the back where the circuit board tiller arm is at and maybe now it's worn down to metal and creating some interferance It's scary all that work and pile it up over something stupid!!!! Sorry for the long post but I'm nervous, Hey I could say SLEEPLESS IN DETROIT LAKES Thanks guys Lanny Khelsea

Here are some questions I would be trying to ask myself in that situation. When you went home did the plane act the same? Has the reciever been in a crash; it might have a bad crystal. Does swapping the old battery work as you might have a bad new battery pack;also, how are you charging the new battery? If you turn the TX off the reciever gain will go to full looking for a signal so if you had interference it turned to it for its primary signal; do you or anyone in the club have a scanner?

Good answers but it does the same at home and after my post I changed out the reciever, the battery, unplugged the servoes one by one, changed the switch and harness and all this with the transmitter off. Same result, Oh BTW the engine is not running. Now I'm really stumped!!!! Lanny Khelsea

OK I just got back from the shop and after turning on the trans I can't make it do it on or off. The only thing that has changed is the shop temp is 65 instead of 75 last nite. I'll try again this afternoon. Tnx, Lanny Khelsea

I would closely inspect all your servo wires. You might have an intermittent short between the signal wire and the positive, or between the positive and ground.

He didn't state Radio or RX but he said antenna through A tube so it's FM. First thing I would look at when at home is the RX and run A radio check with engine off and running. Then at the field A scanner is called for.
A few years ago I got shot down but was able to get my plane down. As I was approaching it I noticed the controls were all going like crazy. We had A fellow standing in the middle of our field talking on an old FM radio to another fellow about 1/4 mile away on another old FM radio. They were running earth quake testing for the state. Every time the fellow standing on our field would transmit, my plane would go nuts. Seems they were on Ch. 15 but I was only taking the hit from the one radio??
I also have some old RXs that have been in crashes or been used for A lot of years that are starting to show some small problems, some not so small. I'm getting A care package ready to send to Radio South for A check up and service. Old age= years of vibration!!

you could have been over driving the receiver when you walked up to the airplane causing the servos to twitch harder...this is normal
now the orginial problem..do you have dual aileron servos or just single? when you changed batteries did you go from 4.8 to 6.0 volt?
and finally what happens when you do a range check at home then at the field?
You could have been getting hits from some park flier somewhere close....

OK Took her up yesterday after much taxi work and it never qlitch once. It does appear to have a intermitent throttle response at idle. If I set the idle trim and then pull down on the stick alittle firmer then the idle drops further, let go and it jumps up. I presume I have a bad gimbal on the TX. I really don't think this is a related prob to the original situation. Well at least that went away but without explanation. H as anyone had this problem and does it take factory fix to resolve it. Thanks very much for all the suggestions and I hope we all have benifitted from them. Thats what makes this an interesting hobby, always somethin to think out. Lanny Khelsea Oh Happy Beaver
