I read of an aircraft C. G. balancer but don't know what it's like or how to obtain one?

RE: Balancing plane
I own a Great Planes Balancer and it works very well for smaller aircraft. I use a flexible ruler and measure from the leading edge and mark with a felt marker the recommended CG. Then I lift with my fingers, if the nose of the plane is slightly down, then I know my balance is correct.
Then I ask my wife hold the spinner with her finger under it, and I lift end of the fuse right near the rudder and we lift the whole plane checking the balance from side to side.
You don't really need a balancer to get your bird to fly right, the fingers and ruler are the next best thing. Also I try to move my equipment around to get my CG correct, I hate adding lead if I can help it. And if I have to add lead from the side to side balance, I hide it inside the aileron tray compartment on the light side of my wing.
Hope I gave you some ideas.

Maybe it's related to the wife that's holding the spinner?

Do a search here for "Vanessa" and "balancer." Works great, on any size plane. (Nobody seems to know why it's called "Vanessa.")

[sm=lol.gif] Nope, my wife said she never heard of her. LOL
