I have a great planes trainer 40 that I had as a kid and I loved that plane, now I am mainly into electric helicopters. I am toying with the idea of changing it over to electric but I don't know what kind of motor I need to put in or esc or battery. Basicly I am wanting to know what it would take to change it over. I have several 11.1v packs that are 2200 20c. I don't know if I can gear a motor up an make it work well... Also I am curious about cost.

Thanks,

You want to turn your glowfuel GP trainer into an electric powered model right?

Tower sells GPs and there is an excellent chance your glow model is sold as an electric. Tower's website is basically a textbook on the hobby. Everything they have is extensively documented and usually has even more information about it and it's use in the "comments" sections of the specification pages that each item the sell has.

I've found out that a great way to discover what size electric motor, what size batteries that motor would need, what size ESC should handle those two, and what size prop to slap on the model can be worked out in Tower's website. I simply compare what I've got flying on glow with a similar size/weight/type electric and go from there. And in this case, Tower probably already has your trainer as an electric.

Sorry I don't know the answers without looking, but the looking shouldn't be too hard. And hopefully someone will come along with the list of parts for you.
