Default Flying with or fixing warped elevator control surface

I recently purchased a Ripmax trainer 40 and built the entire kit. Looking at it, I noticed the elevator control surface is warped at both ends. Looking at the back of the plane, the left side of the elevator is warped upward about 5 degrees and the right side of the elevator is warped downward the same 5 degrees. Does anyone have an idea how to straighten the control surface, replace it or is it safe to fly since it appears the warp is equal on both sides and they might cancel eachother out? Thanks for all of your help.

With heavy gloves on, twist the elevator in the opposite direction of the twist and hit it with a heat gun. That should straighten it out

What Mike said. And if that doesn't work perfectly, don't worry about it. I have a Kadet Senior, built by a guy who was a good builder but who somehow got the stabilizer on at a pretty extreme angle. You'd never know anything was off if you saw it fly. Looks funny just sitting there, though.

Thanks so much for your answers. Its not a severe warp so I will try it in the air first. Thanks again!

The final answer is to replace the elevator with a new one. [X(]

A lot of folks think that this is a hard thing to do - but it is really very simple and you solve you problem VERY quickly.

Good Luck!

Bad idea. The warp probably won't get any better in the air. Fix it first, then fly it. If warping/heating it doesn't work, cut it off and make a new one. The plane you save will be your own.
