Default How do I reverse 1 hitec 985 coreless analog servo (split elevator)

Is there a way to reverse this servo through soldering? I don't want any ill effects though a reverse y. I already have the servos so I don't want to replace with digitals...

To reverse the servo you need to exchange the two of the three (leave the center lead as is) leads going to the potentiometer and the two connections to the motor. Unfortunately, the newer servos often have these two leads mounted right on the PC board to you have to either unsolder them and rotate the motor 180 degrees or cut the pc traces to them and solder jumpers around them to the opposite terminal. If you are lucky, you might find a Futaba servo with the same power and movement and use it on one of the elevator halves as Futaba and Hitec move in opposite directions with the same input. Check with Hitec, they may have a reversed servo available on special order.

Servo City sells Hitec servo's that are reversed. I wouldn't try changing the leads inside the servo. To much could go wrong and you're betting your airplane that you'll do a good job of it.

You have to open the servo up and swap the wires on the motor and pot. Photo 1 swap the Brown/Purple wires (Pot), Photo 2 swap the blue/green wires (motor). If the motor and pot are soldered directly to the board it is better just to close it back up again and get a Matchbox or simmilar device. You can also use two chanels on the radio and mix the Elv with a slave channel.

Cheers

I used W8ye's method with a reverser from Maxx.I have a 7CAP and though I could mix the two servo's,i didnt see how I could trim but the master.I have had no ill effects with the "Y".I think that some of the higher end radios allow for mixing and independent trim??????
