RE: RCR going belly up?
Yes, this issue was disscussed in this thread here: [link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=8264136[/link]
This has been verified by Dick Petit and Gordan Banks. The March issue of RC Reports will be the last one, they will cease publication of the magazine at that time.

RE: RCR going belly up?
they were both great magazines. its too bad RCR couldnt be just an online mag. that sure would eleminate the print costs. but im sure they thought of that

Son of a .........
It is a sign of the times, economy and such
It will surely be missed. Now I have to pay for a full color, ad ridden mag just to satisfy the urge

I went over and took a peek, if Bad Shirt says it's so then I guess we are loosing another one. I think there may be more to it then money though, just think of the work involved in putting a magazine out, I bet Gordon is a bit burnt out after all these years. As to buying one of those gloss printed advertisements, don't bother. Just go into a book store like B&N, sit down and read the little bit that is worth your time then put it back on the rack!! They aren't worth the money to bother buying. Just a thought!!

i've received free power boat mags for yrs being a former (and again eventually) power boater. 75% of those magazines are ads also but i don't pay for them so no problem. if they want to send an ad laden rc mag to me for free no problem, other than that i will get all my reading in here.

Another sign of the times...... This is NOT meant to start another ARF / KIT built arguement but times have changed!! I dropped my subscriptions to RCR and others quite a few years ago. Reading about putting an engine and radio in an ARF or about the latest "park flyer" just wasn't my thing. As time marches on there are fewer and fewer builders out there (my opinion) and I think many of them may also have "dropped" their mag subscripts for the same reason. Having said that....there are a lot of "new" guys in the hobby thanks to ARFS but I am betting that most of them get most on their info on the internet???? Seems like a no win stuation for the mags.....

Out of all the rags out there (or used to be out there), RC Report was the closest to a builders mag. I think you may be confusing RCR with RCM. Or maybe not. Anyway when RCR is gone there will be nothing even close to a "Builders Mag" left.

We will miss Gordon and RCR, a great pair in our hobby. I, like many others, dropped the "fluff" mags and stayed with Gordon. Best to you Gordon, it won't be the same with out you and RCR.

NO....no confusion. I subscribed to both. Dropped RCM first then RCR shortly after when ARF's started filling more of their pages...not bashing anything or anyone..... I love to fly ARF's but just have no interest in reading about their assembly..... BUT....there sure are a heck of a lot of GREAT young flyers out there these days thanks to ARF's, sims, etc.....Those Bastar#@#......lol.

Gordon may consider doing an online mag if enough folks encourage him. Why don't we all send him a letter (put a stamp on it!) ?

RE: RCR going belly up?
I didnt know there was the RCR magazine untill I read the Spad colunms that Frank wrote. I never saw it in the stores. An online mag would be great. Im not sure how much income it would take but the major costs would be eliminated, printing and shipping. It could be a great mag with very few advertisers. give it a shot!
