what is a good cleaner to use on a plane
that just needs to remove lite dirt? Want to be sure that I do not use anything that would melt the foam areas even though they are covered.
Also the plane is covered with decals of a eagle; plane is a christen eagle.
regards

1 Gal of cheap windshield washer fluid - 90 cents @ wal-mart
1 Pt of Rubbing alcohol (70%) - 99 cents @ wal-mart
1. Dump aorund 16-18 oz of washer fluid into car.
2. pour entire bottle of rubbing alcohol into washer jug.
3. shake well.
4. fill desired squrt bottle (an empty Windex bottle) with solution.
5. Clean away.

I really think its the Paper towels that make the difference. I love VIVA towels. I use Windex or anything that looks like windex. A lot of guys complain that windex leaves a residue. But when I use Viva towels it doesn't. They are very soft and absorbent, not like those cheap towels. Sounds like a commercial, doesn't it?

I use straight window cleaner (take your pick). I think anything with a slight amonia or rubbing alcohol content works fine.
I would agree that the towel or rag you use makes a big difference when it comes to streaking.
To finish things off I use a synthetic wax/polish to remove all haze and spider web looking scratches. The synthetic waxes don't have petroleum in them and reduce smudges.

Ace R/C used to sell a cool spray bottle. Long and skinny so you could slip a roll of towels over it. I used a mix of Windex and Fantastik/409. Read about the mix somewhere. Anything like that will work, but the Fantastik cuts the oil and the Windex shines it.....
