Default Evolution .46NX Will it work?

I'm putting this engine in a Kyosho Focke Wulf 50 and I will be having the engine on it's side with a Pitts Muffler on it. The only thing I don't want is the High End Needle towards the top of the cowl.

The way I now have it set up, will this effect the motor on how it runs? I have the needle going the other way so I can adjust the needle on the side of the plane.

Anyone who knows Evolution and has luck with them like I have... please chime in.

I have run/am running many engines on their sides and other than simple tuning adjustments they behave just like they did mounted upright. I have not had to use any pitts style mufflers so as long as you don't have problems with that muffler you shouldn't have any trouble. I've always had good luck with Evo engines.
I did have one tower 75 that always ran perfect upright but when I mounted it on its side it just wouldn't idle. I replaced the original tower plug with an OS A-3 and it ran perfect again. Later when I removed it from the plane I mounted it upright on the bench and tried the same tower plug and it ran perfect . what I'm trying to say is that if you do have problems try to solve them with simple changes.

Thanks Fred... they run good on it's side. I pulled the engine out of a PNP Cub that I cartwheeled a year ago. Fred, I put my tach on this engine with the stock muffler and baffle. When I pulled the Baffle out, I got a few more RPM's out of it... seems to run better, no back pressure. Evolution now makes the In-Cowel Muffler for the Evolution .60 and my .60 loves it. With the pitts it gives it a deeper sound. Plus JMHO it seems to look better than that fat Stock Muffler.

I thank you for your answer, I wasn't sure. [8D]

There's no reason why the Evolution engine would not work like that

Go for it

If you have trouble it is not because the needle valve is on the other side of the back plate
