Default Spinner recommendation

Hi Folks,

I'm running a Saito 1.15 and an APC 15X6 prop.

Does anyone have any recommendations in an aluminum spinner? What size would work best and what type/size of an adapter would I need?

Thanks!

Try Tru Turn website. They have an entire list of engines/available spinners...

I second that, Tru Turn does make a nice spinner, plus they are balanced very well. It's worth the $$.

Spinner size is determined by the model, not engine selection.

While Tru Turn spinners are nice, there are other. less expensive options that work quite well. I just purchased a Dave Brown spinner, cut for my prop, for $42.00, delivered. http://www.dbproducts.com/

So with that said let me ask the stupid question. How do you determine the spinner sign per the plane.
Thanks

If its a sport plane, simply choose a size that just looks good. Not too big, not too small. If its a scale plane or a sport plane with a cowl, it's customary to have a spinner size that matches up with the cowl.

Maybe I jump the gun before I thought this thing out. The Dago Red ARF comes with a 2 blade spinner which measures 3 3/8" I purchased a 12x6 3 blade prop and forgot to look at spinners. As I'm looking at spinners I can't find one that is 3 3/8". Should I go 3 1/2" or 3 1/4"? I can't fine any plastic ones either. Can't really afford the metal. As always thanks for your help.

Pick the size that pleases your eyes. Either will be OK. Tower should have plastic spinners, in multiple colors.

Speaking of jumping the gun, I now read that you are looking for a thee blade spinner. Who jumped the gun, now ??? I should've paid more attention, before posting.

Although there may be, I'm not aware of 3 blade plastic spinners.

Would something like this work. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHBS9&P=7 or would that just look to stupid? I'm trying to find something to put on my VQ Dago Red. I want to put a 3 bladed prop on it. I found a 3 bladed spinner but I just can't convince myself to spend the money.

Try here - http://www.mecoa.com/cb/spinners.htm

Good quality spinners with aluminum backplate. I usually get blanks and cut them myself.

The spinner nut will work, but beatuy is in the eye of the beholder.

Personally, I like the options provided by Robotech.

Thanks. I think you're right. I guess I'll break down and just spend the money. I think I'll skip the house payment this month

Thanks but I can't seem to find the right size even. The max is a 3 3/8". I'm not sure is a 3" would look ok. Never simple[>:] If I though a 3" would look ok I would just buy the Dubro 3" 3 bladed spinner. What do you think?

Failing to find a spinner of the correct diameter, I'd go with the next size down.

It'll look fine.
