Default gyros in airplanes

I am experimenting with using a gyro on an electric powered delta wing. I want to have the gyro hold the plane level side to side. so i have it mounted verticle. In this position it responds only to axial motion as expected, However, when i connect the gyro into the aileron circuit, the servo's snap to full throw and hold. When I connect the gyro into the elevator circuit, the servo's center up as usual but I get a up/down response to axial motion. Without the gyro, all control surfaces respond correctly. I am routing the signal directly from the receiver to the gyro and then to the on board mixer and elevons.

This is a heli gyro.

I sounds as though your servo direction is wrong for the gyro Did you try the reversing switch?

That is the gyro. Yes I tried the reversing switch and I also reversed the direction (label from front to rear), same effect. The problem is that the elevons respond the same on both sides instead of correcting for axial roll. It sure seems like the gyro should be feeding from the aileron instead of the elevator.

Apparently something about about you mixer is confusing the signal

I there a way to plug it in after the mixer?

I thinking that elevons are going to present a problem for this device. If it was just ailerons with a Y-Harness it would work
