Default What's the BEST AEROBAT?

Hi. I own a vmar cap 232. I like hovering, wierd unlisted maneuvers, and just plain flying around. however, my cap 232 seems to be of really low quality, and i may end up chucking it. in the event that it comes to that, which aerobat would you reccomend to replace that plane that is either just as capable or more? the things i am looking for are .60 sized, mid-low wings, about 8.5 lbs with fuel max, HUGE control surfaces, with a bright color scheme that is very different on top than on the bottom, and does not snap roll when i pull back on the elevator really hard. the plane is not to cost more than $300. any suggestions? i need the plane name and the manufacturer

Just keep flying. Didja ever see a Dynaflite Mustang .61, flat-bottom wing and all, do a Lomcevak?

GP also makes the Extra in a .60 size, and it is excellent.

In that case, you could try this:

You may find most arfs are not the quality you like. If you throw a plane around in the air like I do, and it sounds like you do, you will want to go back in and add structural streangth to a lot of the ARFs with triangle stock. Primarily on firewalls, gear blocks and wing blocks.

If the one you are flying hasn't been wrecked, it would also be worth stripping the covering, modifying the airframe and re-covering. Just a though there.

The extra is a great flying bird though. Lots of fun.

ya. the aileron contril stick holes in the wing wore out because there was no bushing. i am going to replace the ailerons with bigger ones while i am fixing it. but my firewall is half inch thick plywood. that is a pretty buff firewall. i don't really wanna strip the covering of though. my plane's structure is covered in wood everywhere except the wing panels. are there any other recomendations though? just the extra is pretty limited.

SpaceClam,

Try a U-Can-Do 3 D. I've heard great things from one of our members about these.
