Hey guys
I just picked up a Sun Dancer with 15 flights. DL- 50cc. RTF except receiver. The question is that it has 4 JR DS 8411 servos on the wings, 2 Hitec HS-5945MG on the Elev.,JS DR 821 on the throttle and a JR DS 8411 on the rudder also. He had a JR R790 receiver. Also, both receiver battery, and ign. are JR`s. I have a Futaba 7 CAF 72MHz old school. What kind of receiver should i buy to work with this radio and servos? What is this about polarity issues from JR to Futaba? I have never used JR. I don`t want to have to buy new servos to work with my favorite of either Futaba or Hitec Receiver. Also will the JR battery work with the Futaba or Hitec? He has all the leads with the plane and all 4 Ailerons with y harnesses down to one plug into the receiver. All i should have to do is drop in the receiver. Could you name a couple receivers with part numbers in the 7 channel range. It has been a while since i have bought one. Thanks all!

All of the servos will work great with your Futaba receiver. The plugs are the same except for the little tab on the Futabas. On the JR's the brown wire is B- so that should be in the same position as the black wire on the Futabas and Hitecs.

Thanks Chuck. I this the same principle if i were to go a 2.4. receiver? I may get a new radio and move to 2.4 just for this plane.

I flew mine with 2.4ghz. Didnt have quite as much servo in mine (meaning they were of less torque all around). Mine flew with a G-62. I also fly my spektrums with dual batteries, mostly to prevent voltage brownout and reset on the receiver. Its never happened to me, just extra insurance. A 1400ma 4.8v on the receiver and on the SunDancer a 2150ma 4.8v for servos. I used to make my own power expanders but started using these. I cant make them as cheap as they are sold. Good value.

It just seems like a lot for one servo wire to carry; to be narrowed down from 4 servo`s into one lead to the receiver. I may split one side to another channel. i don`t want to stave a servo. I was disappointed to find out that Sig stopped making the Sundancer. I just bought it last week and i was going to order another for parts. They were only $250.00. I have searched to try to find one with no luck. I decided just to at least have an extra cowl so i ordered one from Sig and just got the e-mail that they don`t have it in stock. Oh well. I am just going to have to be carefull with the plane. Have you run across a company that still has something in stock? How do you like the plane?

I ran HS545's for the ailerons (4). They dont draw as much as a digital. And I made up some 20ga extensions. Flew great for about 10 flights. Then it failed the depth perception test, I flew into a power pole. It looked like it just exploded. D@mn, right as I had everything all fine tuned, throws perfect, engine singing real nice and balanced perfect. I new I should of bought another when I had the chance. Oh well, next plane!! I wonder why they discontinued it? Its a real nice flying plane. Has plenty of room in the cavernous fuse for a smoke system.
