Length ofradian arc= (Pi / 180) x Radius x Degrees

Length of arc = Amount of throw Radius= equals width of control surface from hinge line to trailing edge.

Units can be either mm or inches as long as you are consistent.

I use the TLAR method (That Looks About Right)

But holding a ruler against the table is the easiest way to measure it in inches.

Use your high school math; tangent = opposite/adjacent then use the tangent table or sine =opposite/hypotenuse then look angle up in sine table.

Finished (fortunately!) high school in May 1943 (66 years ago).
Many of those years have been spent "playing" with "toy" airplanes !!
