Default interference issue

HI,
we have a club trainer plane on chanel 23 and today took it to the field to teach a new member. I decided to range check and had a great deal of interference. I notice another guy just going out to fly and thought we might be interfering with each other and shut my tx off quickly , so as not to shoot him down.

We check and his tx caused the club plane interference so bad it could not be flown, but the club tx did not cause him a problem when he range checks.

I am on ch. 23 and his is ch. 24. Is there anything in this that tells what the problem is. The club TX or RX , could it be his TX or RX?

Either you've got reciever problems or he's got radio problems. If your club equipment is new or as new, I'd suspect he's changed his radio frequency without having it retuned. If that's the case, it's a danger to him as well as to other flyers on adjactent frequencies.

I should have put this in, the club tx and rx are OLD,

Its not really a big deal, I think we are going to switch the Master TX and be done with it. I was just wondering if there was a way to tell whick item was bad. I could not come up with a answer myself.

I have never had a interferance problem before, so its a new thing to me. I have had the old AM systems, FM systems and am now into the 2.4 and this is the first real interference problem I have seen.

I have been around when someone hasa crash and blames the equip. for the crash and we know its not the equip.

Sticks,

The value of having a "Club airplane" and equipment for beginners, cannot be weighed. Kudos to your Club for offering this and good for youfor your interest in others..

I would suggest finding a way to finance the purchase of an inexpensive 2.4 system. Possibly something used from a morefortunate Club member who may be trading up.

Nothing worst than loosing an airplane, Club's airplane or not, when you first start out.

I lost a great model because of someone on my frequency who wasn't paying attention.

2.4 solves many issues and saves models.

Was it a Hitec receiver?

its a futaba,

I am trying to get my 2.4 up and running as a trainer. If I do I may put a RX for my 2.4 in it.
