RE: Evolution 40GX
I'm looking for some feedback on this post too. Anyone, anyone, Bueller BuelleR?
I'm putting the 40GX in a highly modified Hangar 9 Mustang 150.
Information on what props you guys are using at what altitudes would be great.
On the bench I get a 22X10 at 8000 rpms at 4500 feet here in Reno.
I'm buying a Solo 4 blade in the coming days and more input would be great.

That belongs to my buddy Norm RCU ID cpt nj
He has modeling skills that would put many people to shame.
That picture of it in the back ground does it no justice at all.

Keep me informed of your testing of the Evo 40. What altitude are you running it at. We're at 4500 feet here and it makes a huge prop size difference.

RE: Evolution 40GX
I have an Evolution 61 on a 4-Star for about 3 years now, and it has always run beautifully and still does. But today at the flying field after landing my plane, I noticed black stuff all over my 4 Star from the engine. It still runs good but don't know where all the black stuff is coming from. Normally your plane gets all oily from 2-strokes, but this is not normal. The muffler is tight. Any ideas anyone ?

TaurusNXt,
This thread is about 40CC gasoline engines.
If I'm not mistaken, you're referring to the Evo60nt nitro engine.
It's a great engine...I have one too. Make sure all screws and everything is really tight and secured with loctite blue, a greyish tinge isn't unusual, but if it looks like graphite is in your slime on the plane, then the engine could be eatig itself up a bit, as long as you don't have "grit" in there, you're probably ok.
You can always take it yo your LHS and they can check it out for you.
Good luck!
