Default JR receiver info needed!

Hello,

I am getting ready to start a build on a Great Planes Pitts Special (33% size) and I am looking at the best receiver for my application. I am running a JR SX600 6 channel radio on 72mhz channel 29 and need to buy another receiver for the airplane. I have looked at the JR r770s and the JR r649 s-pcm. The pricing between the two isn't too bad, but I am not sure which is the best "bang for the buck". I read on the horizonhobby site and was led to believe that s-pcm would be the best, but will this work with my kind of transmitter? I am sure it would but before I buy would like some opinions. Is this the best receiver for my application? If not can you suggest something better? Thanks in advance!

I am guessing i couldnt find out for sure but i doubt those receivers would work they are pcm and i am mostly sure your radio is ppm. I would look around for a JR700 or one of the other ppm receivers.

something like this would work
http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-JR-R700-7-Ch-SLIMELINE-72MH-FM-RECEIVER_W0QQitemZ230357763633QQcmdZViewItemQQptZR adio_Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item35a2648631&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1205|293%3A1| 294%3A50

ok i did find that horizon still sells them
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=JRPR700**

my 72 stuff i use those and they are light and small easy to get in any airplane.

if you are looking at buying a whole new radio might as well look into 2.4ghz as well. there are detractors but overall i have had a good experience with my Futaba 2.4 and spectrum overall makes a good radio system too. just something to consider, not saying its necessary in all cases but it might fit you in yours.

The SX600 is the JR "SPORT" radio. It is a PPM not PCM transmitter. You cannot use a PCM receiver with it. Listed here are the JR brand receivers per their website that are compatable with your transmitter.

Also, keep in mind that any POSITIVE shift Hitec 6 channel receiver with the correct channel crystal will work too.
