Default Building Stealth UAV

I am trying to build a long range stealth UAV for my schools yearly science fair. My design is essentially like your F-117 Nighhawk model except slightly different and bigger. For my UAV I need a "long range" control system capable of controlling 2 tail rudders (like the F-117), ailerons, throttle, elevators from a "long range" wireless radio controller. I would like to keep this project on some what of a budget, but I want it to work really well, so I am willing to splurge. Any help on finding and buying the parts, and equipment that I need would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

What do you consider "long range"? You will need a computer style radio to get the mixes you require. The radio will cost about $150 minimum. The range of RC radios is farther than you can see. Because you are asking pretty basic questions I assume you have no RC experience. You will not be able to fly this by yourself unless you get training by a competent flight instructor.

Under AMA guidelines you can't fly the plane beyond eyesight. UAV flying in the US requires a pilot lic. The radio equipment along would be $10,000 for a UAV. Look for something else. Dennis

I am going to close this down as the subject matter really has not a lot to do with RC, and it could be a matter of security. The United States Military fly's UAV's and they would be the best source of information. Thanks Dave
