Default Zinger Prop Reamed Too Small

Hi-

I just received my 16-6 four bladed prop for my Saito 180. The prop will not fit on the shaft. It is too small. Has anyone drilled a bigger hole in the hub so it will fit the shaft? Is this something I should have Zinger do? If I need to drill, do I need a drill press? Thx! John

John:

Go to your local hobby shop. They should have a step reamer to do what you need. They come in SAE and Metric sizes. I have never owned a Saito so I can't tell you which you need. Check your manual or the hobby shop staff. If you fly for any length of time, you will need these tools many times over.

Very seldome do I get a prop that fits. I always have to ream them. I use a Fox step reamer as stated, or numbered drill bits in a drill press. I have free handed them too, you just have to be really carefull.

Your Zinger prop has a metal hub? Never seen one...

Anyway, use a drill press to be sure of an accurate, true hole.
