Default Replacment 72mh red flag

Does anybody know where I can purchase a 72mhz red flag for my Airtronics radio? Can't find anywhere.

What is the red flag? If you are referring to the days of the red and white flags, those are long gone as are the radios. They do not meet today's standards. Good Luck, Dave

Why not just use a piece of red ribbon.

72 MHz radios are still alive and kicking, the red ribbons that came with those systems were very useful to check light and strong winds conditions, I use mine on my 72 MHz synthesized system, and also a lot of people at our field (with 72 MHz systems) use them. If you haven't the original one, do not worry, and as suggested use any red ribbon just to check the wind conditions.

Best Regards.

For those of us who got into RC with 2.4ghz, what is/was the red flag for?

Wind and "You'll poke your eye out kid" with that long antenna in your face. Not to mention bending it.

That explains why 2.4's don't use flags... thanks.

The flag really helps with the wind direction and strength if your club is lacking a wind sock.

The red flag does serve as a wind vane, and does offer protection for those careless enough to need it. However, its real function
was to indicate the band in use: Red for 72 MHz, Yellow for 75, and Black for the 50/53 ham frequencies.

I have a red flag if you still want one. Do you need the plastic clip for the antenna also?
