If a thread locked nut is removed and reinstalled without thread locker, is the nut still locked?

Possibly, but I wouldn't count on it. You're better off cleaning the old thread lock off and reapplying it.

ita not as strong but it seems to hold better than just the bare bolt....just my expirence...

NO ask any heli flyer or off road car racer.

If you remove it once....and its not critical..... yes, it retains most of its holding strength.

If you're worried about it, clean it and re locktite it. I mean, whats a drop of locktite in the big scheme of things?
