Default New Engine Select

Have a Balsa Usa 1/4 Scale Clipped Wing Cub. Had an OS 1.08, now dead and gone. Wondering what type of engine I should go to. Don't have lots of extra cash...darn home reno's...Was thinking of an ASP 1.80 4 stroke or would that be too much. Opinions on my next engine are very welcomed!

I'm going to use an OS 120 FS in my 1/4 scale Super Cub, weight approx 15-16 lbs. It calls for a 91 4 stroker
More power, RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
A 180 might be a little overkill.

I have a Sig 1/4 scale Cub and it has a Super Tigre 2000. This is a 1.2 cu glow 2-stroke engine. Plenty of power- flies very scale-like at 1/2 throttle. Big 2-strokes like this sure drink the fuel though! I think if I had built this plane I would have put in a small gasser, like a Zenoah G-23. Much cheaper to run!

Thinking of going with the ASP 120 4 stroke...for a $169.00 you can't really beat that. I know people are not a big fan of those engines, but I am running a Magnum .91 4 stroke on my biplane 4 three years and it has been great.

From what I've read the ASP and Magnum are identical and put out about the same power as an OS. At that price you are right..that would be hard to beat. Good luck with it. Come back and let me know how it worked out.

If cost isn't an issue I would go with an O.S 160 twin with on board glow, fair bit of power and they sound perfect for a Cub. If the 160 is too pricey then I would use a Saito 150.

Thinking of going with the ASP 1.20 FS or looking around the SuperTiger G2300 has a nice price tag...saw someone flying a 1/4 GP Patty Wagstaff with it and it was humming great...any suggests on the SuperTiger G2300?

Thanks for all the input...went to the LHS store today and got a good deal on the OS 1.20...should give me a little more juice than the 1.08...
