Corsair scale guysneed your help!
Hi guys:
My question is: what is the distance between rivets on a full size Corsair.
I had started out to use 2 inches and scaled that to one-half inch for my 1/5 scale Ziroli Corsair. They look to far apart.
At an air show yesterday, I saw a couple WWII era planes and their rivets were 1 1/4 " apart, which would scale down to 1/4" for my ZCorsair.
Help,
Thanks,
BobM

RE: Corsair scale guysneed your help!
the distance between rivets and the edge distance (distance between a rivet and the edge of a panel) is determined by the diameter of the rivet used.....I'll betcha that the distance between rivets changed during the production of the aircraft....ie from the first ones produced to some of the last ones.....but that is a guess on my part.....
If you really want to get wrapped around the axle on detail.....I'd pick a year produced, find out the proper spacing and go from there....
Love to see your airplane when you're done
