I picked up an old 1/4 Cub with Apollo 15 servos, do I nned to replace these or should I give them a try.
2nd question: There are resistors soldered into the servo extensions, what are they there for??
Thanks

Are you sure they are not capacitors instead of resisters. Resiters would be to lower voltage, capacitors would be there as noise supressors. Get rid of all of it, servos included, and go with some modern stuff. WAY less headaches in the long run. You can get some very good servos, today, for not much money.

I would say to get rid of all of it too, in this case newer is better. I used to fly Kraft AM radio systems but they fell to new techonogly after a few crashes due to interferance.

Those are old Hitec servos I believe? 80's "vintage" IIRC...and they wern't exactly the greatest, if ya know what I mean...
Hitec makes some really good equipment NOW, but some of that older stuff..?
Modern servos are SO MUCH better...
I would replace them...for the sake of the airplane, and for safety...(not necessarily in that order )

The Apollo servos were made by RCD before they merged with HiTec. I have 4 Apollo 10 servos that are similar to Futaba S148 servos. They are 25 years old but still work. I would not trust them on any thing other than throttle but they were good servos.
