Engine / fuel problem
I have 85 flights on a UCD with 2nd. engine and I am having problems.
The 2 stroke (mounted inverted) will start , run for 5 Min. than lean out like a vent tube is clogged. But if I blow air through , everything is free.
So I try again this time less than 5 Min. I start to open needle valve and continue opening 3 turns till engine dies. (lean)
I burnt out 3 glow plugs so far. I am going to pull tank and replace fuel lines next. Is their any else ?
P. S. A smoke system ( installed 5 flights ago) may be the cause .

RE: Engine / fuel problem
It certainly sounds like fuel starvation. Try this. Fill the tank. disconnect the line at the carburetor. let it hang a few inches below the bottom of the tank (put an extension on the line if you have to) to start a siphon into a clean container. The entire tank should be siphoned out at a fairly brisk pace (2 or 3 ounces per minute). If the rate of flow slows down or stops then you know you have a tank / plumbing problem.
