adding flaps and shorting wing
 
hi
i have a slipsteam 80" wing chipmunk arf ,i plan to recover it and add flaps and go over the joints pin the fiewall ,i also would like to shorten the lenght of the wing like a clipped wing to about 72" for easy transporting will this shorting of the wing be trouble ,i would like to make it a 3 piece wing with the center mounted to the plane but removeable and have the wing tips bolt on but i dont have the skill to do this ,thanks rye

Clipping the wings of long winged airplanes like Cubs and Taylorcrafts has been done thousands of times. The general consensus is that you'll fly a little faster, get tossed around in the wind less, be more aerobatic (better snaps and spins, faster rolls), and land a little hotter. If that's what you want, go for it.
