One servo, Two elevator halves?
Hi guys,
Is there a possible way to use one servo one two elevator halves? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks |
RE: One servo, Two elevator halves?
done all the time in many planes... (mostly smaller) you can put the servo in the fuse and then run 2 seperate control rods back to each half...
or some planes have a torque rod that connect the two halves... Which plane? might be able to give better directions if the plane is known |
RE: One servo, Two elevator halves?
Gator RC sells an elevator joiner which allows the use of one servo to operate two separate elevator halves.

Try setting it up with control lines and a pull pull set up on both sides like Green RCs Jenny.

You can run two pushrods, or one pushrod that is split at the rear, or just run a single pushrod and join the elevator halves with 1.8" music wire

Has anyone done a GP ultra sport 40+ with this setup. The two pushrod approach shown in the planes looks like it could lend itself to a little differential elevator. Is the plan setup ok with two pushrods connected at the server, or should I look at doing something more/different?

Try the MK bellcrank from Central Hobbies.
we use it in pattern planes. They sell two sizes. works great and no worries about differential. |
RE: One servo, Two elevator halves?
The way they show in the plans works just fine, but I would add a little solder to that joint just to be on the safe side.

You could also try the DEPS from Central Hobbies too. It's really lightweight.
