RE: GMS Engine

Try heating the crankcase around the liner (the outside). The aluminum will expand faster than the sleeve, and it may pull out then.

Yes, I have done that - in the oven at about 250 F. Then a wooden dowel from the bottom to shove it out. Jim

I use a piece of 1/8" brass tubing that I flatter about a 1/4" on one end & bend 90 degrees . Put the crank back in with a prop on it . Hook the tubing hook part in one of the ports inside the sleeve , heat the engine with a heat gun or propane torch & turn the prop backward & that should lift the sleeve out. Use a heavy glove & don't burn yourself. Works for me ! Give it a try. MAX H. :)

No brass tube ? Steal some from a old fuel tank . Heat the out side of the crankcase . It will come out or it is gauled now . If that you are up the creek. Max H.

Clarence Lee recommends a copper glow plug washer be placed in the exhaust port to help jack the liner out.

Personally, I use a zip tie head in the exhaust port. Nylon is softer than copper.

Never had much trouble jacking one out....

I think I would choke up the $99 for a new one and save the hassle
