Ws 66'' wing area 882 sq in weight 5.5 lbs power ST51 I really need to know what size float kit to buy. TIA Greg |
floats
The general rule of them is that the floats should be 75 to 80 percent of the length of the plane (From Prop to rudder hinge line) You will want to put the step on the cg line or 1/2 inch in front of the step. Here is really great info on building and setting up floats. I built a set out of blue foam and the worked great.

Greg...for easy to build and VERY durable floats, try the Great Planes series. For the 40 sized plane, buy the 20 sized floats. You'll just have to trust me on this one. It works the same way all through the GP Float series. The 40 sized GP floats work terrific on the Tower Trainer 60 and other 60 sized planes....the GP 60 series float will work on a plane up to 15 pounds! (120 + Sized) I'll try and attach a pic of the GP 40's on a 60 sized trainer and also the GP 20's on a 40 sized pattern ship. Tracy
