The camera angle can make things look different than they really are. That web site has thousands of photos. What made you look at this one in such detail?

Full scale planes carry a lot of weight on their tailwheels and it isn't unusual to see one canted some. Maybe he was turning when he stopped.

Inewqban, good pic and labeling. Just a small point, though. Both the cables are from the rudder for tailwheel steering. There was no brake on this tailwheel. In fact, I don't recall any tailwheels having a brake. Although, I could be enlightened:):)

I stand corrected; I should have labeled the third cable as tailwheel lock. The Cessna A185F has a locking tailwheel that is useful during crosswing landings and take offs, and also in avoiding shimming. |
