Indoor Heli Flying in Beaverton Oregon!
FLYING AT THE HOOP!
Flying this Saturday Jan 27, from 4 to 7. $10 for three hours.
Open to all Electric Helicopter and Airplane Pilots! Frequency board available.
Last week's contest results:
Heli contest was a "pad hop". Four 8 1/2" by 11" papers were taped to the floor in a diamond pattern and pilots were asked to land on each "pad" one after the other in a clockwise direction. Most touches in 3 minutes.
First place, 3 points Robert Fischer, prize was a $10 gift certificate for Tammies Hobbies.
Second place, 2 points Dennis Laughlin, prize was servo and servo tape.
Third place, 1 point Tom Thomasian, prize was blades.
Other contestants were; Grady Rapier, Ali Oztaskin
Helis, second category, dual rotors
First place, 3 points Ward Stroud, prize was a $10 gift certificate for Tammies Hobbies.
Other contestants were; Nicole Gullberg, DNF.
Airplane contest was a "spot landing". Pilots were asked to land on one of three point areas. The center jump ring of the court was 5 points, the larger ring around the center ring was 3 points and anywhere on the floor was 1 point. Three landings in one minute.
First place, 3 points Keating Simons, prize was a $10 gift certificate for Tammies Hobbies and servo tape.
Second place, 2 points Michael Williams, prize was servos and servo tape.
Third place, 1 point Matt Bailey, prize was prop and servo tape.
Other contestants were; Tom Thomasian, Jim Robb.
All registered pilots, 1 point.
Random handouts, blades, servo tape.

First place, 3 points Chris Ekerson, his prizes were a $10 gift cert to Tammies and plasti-blades.
Second place, 2 points Chris Dahmen, his prizes were an Align canopy and servo tape.
Third place, 1 point Fred Millard, his prizes were Align blades and servo tape.
Other Heli competitors were; Dennis "Two Points" Laughlin, Nicole Gullberg, Ali Oztaskin, Ward Stroud and James Gillilan
Airplane contest was a "timed flight". Pilots were asked to fly as close to 90 seconds as possible.
First place, 3 points Matt "Velcro Mount" Bailey, his prizes were a Flatout reflection airplane and a $10 gift cert to Tammies.
Second place, 2 points Steve Varnum, his prizes were a sheet of 3mm depron and servo tape.
Third place, 1 point Tony Thomasian, his prizes were a sheet of 3mm depron and a tube of thread lock.
Other Airplane competitors were; Michael Williams, Jim McDowell and Chris Dahmen.
Chris Dahmen ended his timed flight with the "Best Crash of the Night" and received a $10 gift cert to Tammies.

Last Saturday's (Feb 24th) results:
Final contest to determine #1 Airplane Pilot was a 3 minute free style flight to music. It was very cool. Tony and Michael were the two participants. Judging was by fellow flyers. Tony came out on top!
Final prizes for the season were handed out to Airplane and Heli pilots. Placement was by accumulated points.
Tony and Michael were only one point apart going into the last contest!
Airplanes:
First place, Tony Thomasian, his prizes were a complete Spektrum 6 radio system, a flatout airplane, a motor, a flight battery and esc.
Second place, Michael Williams, his prizes were 4 S75 servos, a flatout airplane, a motor, a flight battery and esc.
Third place, Matt Bailey, his prize was a flatout airplane.
Helis:
