Yep, A Merry Christmas to all RC Skydivers and all the best in the coming New Year. Due to the beautiful weather here in the Northwest I haven't been able to make any drops. After my big fiasco at Muncie this year I made a modification to my jumper's arms. Once I get a chance to try out the new controls will post some pictures.

GaryV,
Great pictures. It was 42 degrees at our field, cloudy and cold. I had problems with the engine on my Telemaster and couldn't get in any drops. Gonna go out this weekend and get in some drops. Gotta start practicing for Muncie.

Hi Juan, sorry your plane wouldn't cooperate, maybe next time.
We had a nice flying day, in the 50's and very little wind.
We made five drops, only one failure to open, it was the IHL Jr. dropped from my Multiplex fun cub.
I took the pilot chute off of it and that may have been the problem, it survived with nothing getting broken and opened fine on the second drop.

GaryV,
I took my plane to Mark Anderson he is our local engine expert and he got it going. So I am ready to go.
I did a complete re-design on my jumper. He will have a sideways motion on the arms and I will get around 175 degrees of throw.
The weather forecast for today is winds up to 15 MPH. Tomorrow is looking good. Will give it a try then.

I noticed on the pictures of your jumpers that the controls lines run straight to the jumpers arms. Are all your jumpers set up that way?

That is a neat picture of your Mini Jumper. Good to know he didn't get busted up on the dirt dive.
I see where you have LED lights on your Fun Cub. What size batteries are you using to power the lights?

I have an Abell RC airplane set up for night flying. Maybe we could try some night drops at Muncie.
I made up a vest with LED lights for the jumper and use a 9 volt battery for power.

Gary,
Does my heart good to see you enjoying the Mike jumpers. Looks like they still work great!! Wish I had kept up with the number of jumps on each one of them. That would be a bunch!!! Those Mike jumpers are made so well that they keep on keeping on for many years.
HAVE FUN!!!
Jim

Hi Jim,
Hope you and Mary had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Running on generator power now, problem at a power substation, supposed to be back up in a few hours.

Juan, The control lines on my mikes (and Mike alikes) go through a ring on the hands and hook at the riser ring attachment point at the shoulders, see pic.
The IHL JR. hook directly to the hands.

The lights on the Fun Cub are powered by the flight battery.(3S LiPo 2200mah)
They are rated for 12v, so I use a T adapter shown in the pic below.
The lights draw 1.1 amp, 14 w, so I'm sure they have some effect on flight time.

GaryV,
Thanks for the information.

Finally got a drop in yesterday. The new arm setup on Little Juan 2.0 worked out good.
Next time I make some drops will try and post some pictures.

Glad to see other Italians here!!!!
I see you are on the "heavy" side of RC skydiving with the Mike... my idea is to realise a very small and light diver+cute (les than 100 g, goal 30 g) to be lifted by a small plane or even a quad (that are the two platforms my friends could borrow me for that purpose...).
I have collected material and some plans, too, but need time to start the job.

Hi Tom if I understand you would like to make a rc skydiver weighing about 100g.?
Tell you now that my weighs about 1200gr. It seems a little difficult to realize a project. You have to find someone who knows more than me so we can help you. hello Luigi.
