Default Muncie 2015

Here is the date for the 2015 Muncie IN Rally.
I noticed that this also the same time as the Indiana Warbird Campaign.
I'll send Guy a message to be sure this is correct.

I usually stay at the Lees Inn.
I plan to pull my camper out and stay at the field, as I did last year, unless I don't bring the Decathlon.

Bob and I stay at the Super 8 motel. There is an Ihop restaurant next door.

Gary you gotta bring the Decathlon. It is really neat seeing 6 jumpers drop at the same time.

This was my practice target, got pretty close.

Touching up the target, don't worry Ken we will paint a few more circles around the outside for you.

Gary,
As long as you set the rack up outside the circle it should be OK. Just kidding of course!!
Bob, Bill and I will be at Muncie tomorrow afternoon.

Gary,
What brand of paint are you using to paint the circles on the target?
We are planning on having an RC Skydiving Rally here in the Olympia area sometime soon.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Juan,

You could have taken mine with you and kept it till Muncie next year.

I used Krylon Fusion, however it still comes off and you have to touch it up. It was a good bit of work to paint. Tarps are made so stuff, including paint doesn't stick to them. I tried some paint from a auto paint store that used a prep spray then paint. it was expensive and didn't stick any better than the Krylon.
The guy at the paint store said he didn't think it would stick very good and he was right.

I found some other material but it was very expensive, What I have is a pool cover tarp, do a search for round tarp. the one I have was 24' but it only measures 22'
look at the pic in the above post, you can see the foam board patterns that I used to paint the circles,
I had to make a pattern for each radius then kept moving it till I got all the way around the circle.
the radius of the first painted circle is 24" when the 12" 100 point circle is placed in the center it makes it 18" from the edge of the 100 point circle to the first painted circle. then it is 18" between each circle.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the information.
If I had known we were going to hold a rally I would have borrowed your target.
We haven't set a date for our rally. It is just in the planning stage now.

If you can mow the grass short the painted lines on the ground work ok, like we did for many years at Muncie
The painted lines are easy and cheap, and can be orange, HA HA

Gary,
Yep, we do have painted lines on the runway. But we wanted to use a different area and not have to keep repainting the lines.
I do miss "Orange Power"!!!
