i have a strange request/challenge!
I need to make a remote control footswitch....it would be 2 x on/off buttons, and would be used to activate a couple of miniture relays (or an IC Latch) to be able to remotley switch things on or off.
the range will be pretty small, about 4 meters, but the issue would be the RF envoroment....it is going to be used at major european festivals, so the airwaves are pretty jammed in the TV region, and Bluetooth would be a potential dropout disaster.
I'm a very experienced audio industry service/repair tecnician, but this is well outside of my knoledge base, are there any electronic wizards out there that may be able to help me?

Since you asked for “remote” control and not “radio” control then just do what you have already suggested: switches, relays and WIRES! If the distance is 4 meters it should be pretty easy to find some wires that are 4 meters long.
